vision, objectives and a viable business strategy; then we
help our clients design and change processes to insure
they are aligned with the vision and strategy and are
focused on attaining the objectives. KTW will ensure that
this critical aspect of your business plan is clearly
enunciated. It may be necessary to work with key
executives to develop a mission statement, vision,
strategy and objectives or it could simply be a matter of
helping a client document these critical business steps.
A mission statement enunciates what the company is about
in the long term: what does the company do; which markets
will it serve; and who are its customers. The mission
statement also lays out the principles that a company is
to follow in the pursuit of its business. In short, the
mission statement sets the direction and boundaries for a
company’s operations. Without a clear mission statement, a
company lacks focus and often wastes much time and money
and creates destructive internal confusion chasing
divergent goals.
A clear mission statement is essential! It is the seed
from which will spring the company’s business strategy,
its processes and its measurements. KTW can help a company
develop, and clearly state, its mission. We facilitate
sessions of key executives, using proven techniques, to
quickly and develop consensus and clarity.
Once the mission is defined, a shorter-term vision (3-5
years), along with specific objectives, is developed. The
vision lays out the desired state the company wants to
achieve within the planning timeframe and consistent with
the long-term mission. Objectives are the guideposts to
accomplishing the vision. The vision and objectives set
the direction and focus for strategy, strategic deployment
(process), and measurements for the planning timeframe. |
